The Director of the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and Groups (CRRCG) Mr. Darijan Sotirovski for “Trilling”presents his position after yesterday's declaration of autocephaly for MOC-OA by the SOC:
"Recognition of the autocephalous status of our Macedonian Orthodox Church - Ohrid Archbishopric is a point we have reached after a long process of intensified church-state diplomacy to correct a great injustice to the Macedonian people.
It was a special honor to be in the ministry when all our efforts so far culminated. From this point onwards exists all our attempts, aspirations, sacrifices, years of faith, years of patience and isolation, and from here on the end of all is in sight, and that is the formalization of the recognized autocephalous status that our church is live, by confirmation of the same by the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Mr. Bartholomew.
The path we have traveled speaks of the spirituality of our holy MOC-OA, of its pure Christian ethos, of its maturity, of its importance to us its children, but also that this generation is able and can bring new times.
"Congratulating this new chapter that opens in our church and national history, convinced of the opportunities, potentials and successes that we can and must achieve with further work, I will conclude: Macedonians, be proud!" said Sotirovski.
