The Director of the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and Groups (CRRCG) Mr. Darijan Sotirovski sent a greetings telegram to His Holiness the Archbishop of Pec, the Metropolitan of Belgrade and Karlovac and Serbian Patriarch Irenaeus, congratulating him on the great jubilee 950 years since the founding of the monastery "St. Prohor Pchinski".
This year of the Lord 2020 brings with it a significant jubilee, 950 years since the founding of the ancient Orthodox monastery "St. Prohor Pcinjski". It is much more than a bygone period, it is a period filled with spiritual challenges and feats, transmission of the Holy Tradition, rises and falls, memories, layered generational testimony, bright and solemn moments and many faithful people who approached the saints with faith and hope.
This year, when the church bells will ring at the solemn gathering and the Holy Liturgy, in those sublime moments of celebration of the 950th year of the monastery existence, know that we are together in joy, and in that name receive my sincere congratulations on the occasion of this important jubilee.
The Macedonian people have an inseparable spiritual connection and primordial respect for the monastery of St. Prohor Pcinjski, the place where the centuries-old Macedonian national aspiration for statehood and sovereignty was translated into the decisions of the delegates at the first session of ASNOM.
May God protect and make our Orthodox peoples happy!
