RELIGIOUS CALENDAR: BIRTH OF SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST - IVANDEN
Today's Orthodox holiday, the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist, has deep roots of celebration in the tradition of the Macedonian people and indelible traces in the people's church memory.
Macedonian believers over the centuries have built many churches and monasteries in honor of St. John, which are a fortress and guardian of the faith.
The cult and worship of this saint is still alive today and preserved by the faithful people.

Many customs and beliefs of Macedonian believers are connected with this great saint. During the year, the Orthodox Church dedicated a total of six holidays in its calendar to him. Many churches and monasteries built in Macedonia over the centuries were inspired by the miraculous power of the Baptist. The cult of St. John the Baptist does not die out even today.
