Various theological currents contributed to its establishment, but above all, John Wesley stands out as the most dedicated to its emergence. The very name of the church indicates that emphasis is primarily placed on the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. After its emergence in England, evangelicalism very quickly gained popularity in the United States during the 18th and 19th centuries. Over time, it expanded significantly and evangelical churches were established in many countries around the world. Today in the world the number of evangelicals is more than 600 million people. The beginnings of the Evangelical Church in the Republic of Macedonia date back to the end of the 80s of the last century. Today, within the framework of the social activity of the Evangelical Church, the Humanitarian Organization "AGAPE" also operates.
