The Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and groups informs the Macedonian public that this year, on May 1, when Holy Saturday is celebrated, the Holy Fire will arrive in our country in the evening at the International Airport in Skopje.
Director of the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and groups Darijan Sotirovski will have the honor at the International Airport in Athens, Greece to take the Holy Fire by the Greek state-church delegation that will bring it from Jerusalem, where for almost two millennia it descends in the tomb of Christ in the church of Christ's Resurrection on Holy Saturday.
Upon arrival, the Holy Fire at Skopje International Airport will be welcomed and picked up by representatives of the Orthodox dioceses, who will take it to all cities across the country. After his arrival, the Director of the Commission Sotirovski will hand over the Holy Fire to His Beatitude the Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia Mr. Mr. Stefan in the residential monastery of St. George the Victorious in Skopje.
We wish beautiful holiday moments to the Orthodox believers in the homeland and around the world and remind them of the calls for mandatory adherence to the measures for protection against the corona virus, with special emphasis on the mandatory wearing of a protective mask in temples and outside.
